Bloomberg Endorses Paul Vallone for NYC Council in the 19th District
Paul Vallone is honored to announce Mayor Michael Bloomberg's endorsement of his campaign for New York City Council in the 19th District of Northeastern Queens. Mayor Bloomberg made the announcement on Friday, July 17th amid a large crowd of Vallone and Mayor Bloomberg supporters in Vallone's Campaign Headquarters on Francis Lewis Blvd. The occasion brought together residents from all over the District in support of this alliance.
Both Vallone and Mayor Bloomberg expressed their commitment to preserving the quality of life in our neighborhoods, maintaining our public safety, investing in our beautiful park system and making sure the schools are always progressing to provide a future our children deserve.
Mayor Bloomberg stressed Paul's hard work on the Board of Corrections and his leadership in rewriting the minimum standards that govern the Board, the Department of Health and the Department of Corrections. The Mayor also noted his strong community ties and life-long dedication to community service, and a tradition of serving with integrity and positive leadership.
“I’m endorsing Paul Vallone because just like his father and his brother, Paul will deliver the kind of government taxpayers want and deserve; government that is pragmatic, common sense and effective,” said Mayor Bloomberg. “Paul is pledging to ensure the quality of life in our neighborhoods, expand the economy and create jobs in Queens and across all five boroughs. Together, Paul Vallone and our Administration will work to make the safest big city in America even safer.”
Vallone couldn't have asked for a better ending to his week, after reaching his goal of 5,000 signatures at the close of the Petition Drive. "I am truly honored to receive the endorsement of Mayor Bloomberg. The strong leadership the Mayor has provided during this decade of crisis, for our safety and now for our economy, has been the shining light to preserve our city. By standing together, the Mayor has once again brought back good government rather than politics-as-usual. It is a very powerful statement to our community that our Mayor stands with our Campaign, and for the future of our District and our City, and I am very thankful to the Mayor for this commitment," stated Vallone of the endorsement.
